Students in my classes quickly learn that I have high expectations for them. Respect is essential, and while I do not expect everyone to be a master artist, I do expect 100 percent from everyone. I share with students that I have worked professionally and continue to create and show my own artwork. Creating art takes a multitude of skills, one of which is problem solving. Creating art can be cathartic but may also have its moments of frustration. It is important to not give up on yourself. I keep connected to my Art and true to what I preach by creating and exhibiting my own artwork.
